Audrey, why did you choose the Emirates as your inspiration?
I came to live in the UAE with a genuine desire to discover the Arab world, the flavors of the Orient, and the magic that floats in the air. Far from the clichés of overrated Dubai, I discovered an innovative but still authentic country, constantly oscillating between modernity and tradition, where brand-new towers stand side by side with traditional clothing and desert caravans. The endless shifting of the dunes and sand, the overwhelming heat, and the slow pace of traditions and cultures contrast with a country at the cutting edge of technology, and it is this unique blend that gives it so much charm.
What attracted you to the Emirates in terms of fashion?
In Arab countries, there is always a mix of modesty and suggestion. I love soft fabrics that emphasize and suggest, transparencies that reveal themselves in layers, and the wind that blows through the drapery.
